Territory Acknowledgement

As a first-generation settler from Belarus, I am privileged to live and practice on the traditional,

ancestral, and unceded territories of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), qʼʷa:n̓ƛʼən̓ (Kwantlen), qiqéyt (Qayqayt), and Stó:lō (Sto:lo) Peoples.

I am grateful for their continued care for these lands, waters, skies, and all that is above and below.

As a mental health care professional, I recognize the impact of systemic racism within institutions

and that counsellors have the responsibility and power to create culturally safe and appropriate environments of care

I commit to continued learning about the devastating colonial practices in psychotherapy and healthcare

and doing my part in decolonizing the field.
